Kho Kho Australia is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of Kho Kho across the nation. Our purpose is to introduce this traditional Indian sport to communities throughout Australia, giving it a strong foundation at the grassroots level. We believe that Kho Kho’s unique blend of speed, agility, and strategy has the potential to captivate athletes and fans alike. By building awareness, organizing competitions, and creating opportunities for participation, we aim to firmly establish Kho Kho in Australia’s sporting landscape, encouraging more individuals to experience the excitement and camaraderie that the sport offers.

Our vision is to see Kho Kho flourish in Australia, not only at the grassroots but also on the international stage. We are committed to leading Australia’s representation in global competitions, ensuring that our athletes compete with pride and determination. We are proud to be a member of the International Kho Kho Federation and are honored to have been selected to send both men’s and women’s teams to compete in the inaugural 2025 Kho Kho World Cup in Delhi, India. Raj Sura

President

Raj is one of the Founders of Kho Kho Australia, having led the registration of the organisation and establishing its strategic vision. A former national-level player, he represented Maharashtra and Pune University, earning multiple “Best Player” honours across India, including the prestigious Veer Abhimanyu Award. He is a proud member of the Australian team for the 2025 Kho Kho World Cup and also IKKF certified International Kho Kho Coach & Official.

His passion for Kho Kho, strong leadership, commitment to mentoring, and deep knowledge of the sport continue to drive the sport’s development in Australia. His prior experience in running a successful IT and consulting business makes him an astute leader, capable of planning, delivering, and financially managing organisation’s initiatives.

Savitha Krishnappa

Vice President

Savitha is a passionate community sports enthusiast and grassroots development advocate dedicated to the growth of Kho Kho in Australia. Since the inception of Kho Kho Australia, she has actively contributed as a volunteer in promoting the sport across schools, multicultural communities, Australian sporting bodies and platforms. With experience in governance, program development, and community engagement, she is committed to building inclusive sporting environments and sustainable player pathways.

Savitha is an accredited Level III A International Coach and Official through the Kho Kho Federation, holds a Level 1 Sports Trainer accreditation in Australia, and continues to build her expertise through advanced coaching and sports development qualifications.

Secretary

Sandeep is a business owner and passionate sports enthusiast with a strong presence in community organisations and sporting associations. He has sponsored and led various sports initiatives and events in Australia and overseas.

An active sportsman for many years and a coach for the past 15 years, Sandeep brings valuable experience and dedication. He is driven by a vision to see Australian Kho Kho teams succeed on the global stage and is committed to growing the sport through grassroots development and stronger pathways for future players.

Vinuta Dixit

Treasurer

Vinuta brings over 12 years of experience in banking across operations, financial crime, risk, and compliance. She has strong expertise in governance, reporting, and process improvement, and is committed to ensuring transparent and responsible financial management to support the growth of Kho Kho in Australia.

A national-level player who has represented Australia at the Kho Kho World Cup, Vinuta understands athletes’ needs firsthand. She is passionate about building a sustainable, inclusive, and high-performing Kho Kho community, creating pathways for players to develop and compete at the highest level.

Ajit is a passionate sports professional whose journey reflects versatility, leadership, and dedication to athlete development. With a background in sales and marketing, he combines strong people skills with a lifelong passion for sport and community engagement. A proud member of Kho Kho Australia and representative of the Australian team at the 2025 Kho Kho World Cup, he continues to contribute to the growth and development of Kho Kho across Australia.

An avid sports fan and multi-sport athlete, he has competed in basketball, Oztag, baseball, soccer, and many other sports. His passions lean towards player development, teamwork, and fostering sporting communities.

Madhuri Balimane | Member
Madhuri Balimane

National committee Member

Madhuri is a Melbourne-based Continuous Improvement Lead and passionate sportsperson dedicated to advancing Kho Kho in Australia. She was part of the Australian women’s contingent at the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 and competed in the inaugural national championships for the Victorian team.

Beyond her playing career, Madhuri contributes through voluntary coaching across multiple teams in Melbourne and also plays badminton at a competitive level. An active member of a multicultural women’s community group, she is passionate about empowering women and is committed to helping Kho Kho grow into a widely recognized mainstream sport in Australia.

Ojas Kulkarni

Ojas is a dedicated Kho Kho athlete and leader with over 15 years of playing experience. A participant in the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025 and Men’s Captain, he brings strong leadership, strategic thinking, discipline, and a deep passion for sports and fitness.

Alongside his professional background as a software engineer, Ojas has been actively involved in promoting Kho Kho in Australia through community engagement even before the formal establishment of Kho Kho Australia, and has continued this commitment since its registration. He is committed to mentoring players and strengthening the Kho Kho community in Australia through teamwork, innovation, and excellence, while advocating for greater visibility and recognition of the sport across multiple platforms.

Subodh Bapat

National committee Member

Subodh is a Human Resources professional and a passionate sports enthusiast with deep roots in Kho Kho. He played the sport competitively in India and was also a member of the Australian squad for the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025, reflecting his high-level playing experience and continued commitment to the game.

He has been actively involved with Kho Kho Australia, contributing to the promotion and development of the sport across the country. Subodh is also a champion in formulating policy and governance structures, bringing strong technical knowledge of Kho Kho along with a structured, strategic approach to strengthening the sport’s administration, growth, and long-term sustainability.
